Gulf Coast Showcase of Champions, Tate HS, Pensacola, FL
The LONG BEACH HIGH SCHOOL BEARCAT BAND wrapped up the marching season with one of everyone's favorite venues, The Showcase of Champions at Tate High School. Once again the band performed in outstanding fashion, scoring a second in class 3A in preliminary competition, much better than last year's prelim performance. This performance qualified the band to participate in the evening's open finals in which all qualifying bands competed without regard to class size.
After another solid performance that evening, the band was awarded fifth place overall, outperforming several much larger bands. They placed behind three 5A bands and an exceptional (and really big) band from Daphne, Alabama.
All in all it was a wonderful way to wrap up one of the most successful marching seasons in recent memory. CONGRATULATIONS, BAND! WE COULD NOT BE MORE PROUD OF YOU ALL.

The LONG BEACH HIGH SCHOOL BEARCAT BAND wowed the judges at the MS. HSAA state Marching Band Championships, earning an overall second place. Long Beach outscored 9 of the top Class 5A highschool bands in the entire state. Congratulations from the Band Boosters and all the parents to all the band members and to Mr. Caviness, the ORIGINAL Mr. Brown, and the INFAMEOUS Mr. Sprinkell and the rest of the band staff (paid and volunteer).
Our next and last competition of the season will be the Showcase of Champions at Tate High School, Pensacola, FL on November 7, 2007. If you can only attend one competition this year, this is the one. (And it's your last chance....)

This is another great performance by everyone who has worked so hard to achieve excellence in the band's performance. The first in class award speaks for itself. The third place overall ranked the LBHS band's performance ahead of many excellent bands including much larger bands and bands from much larger schools.
Congratulations to the Harrison Central band for their first place overall performance.
See you at STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REGIONAL COMPETITION AT GULFPORT
Congratulations to our band for another outstanding performance. The band achieved ratings of 1 (Superior) in all judged areas including Overall Band, Drum Major, Color Guard, and Percussion.
Judging was significantly tougher this year compared to Gulfport events in years past, with only a hand full of the twenty 5-A and 6-A bands receiving all superior ratings. Kudos to the band staff and all our kids for all the hard work that led to this outstanding result.
